Optical PTFE for perfect Solutions in Light Measurements

In optical applications such as photonics and photometry, high reflectivity and defined light quality play an important role.
Thanks to its high reflectivity over a broad wavelength range, the diffuse reflecting PTFE material ZenithPolymerTM is the ideal material for optical components—in sensors, satellites, and autonomous driving systems, for example. One of the primary characteristics of this material is its high mechanical strength, which allows self-supporting solutions while also retaining the outstanding properties of PTFE:

  • Temperature-resistant from −200°C to +260°C
  • Chemical-resistant
  • Antiadhesive, electrically and thermally insulating
  • Compoundable
  • Largely resistant to UV radiation

In collaboration with our partner SphereOptics, we can offer you comprehensive advice and an extensive selection of products in the fields of photonics, photometry, and remote sensing.

Product Examples:

Integrating spheres

for measuring diffuse reflection and scattered transmittance for the characterization of light sources (e.g., light bulbs or LEDs) or to measure the power of lasers, laser diodes, and LEDs—in spectroscopy, for example.

Lambertian reflectors and diffusers

These are used, for example, as reflectance standards or targets, a base material for integrating spheres, projection screens, or detection sensors, optical attenuators, and field targets in the aerospace sector. Transmittance of between 2% and 50%. High reflectivity of more than 98% over a broad wavelength range of between 200 nm and 2,500 nm

Reflection and fluorescence standards

Reflection and fluorescence standards are used primarily for contrast measurement in camera applications, the calibration of integrating sphere systems, and the calibration of spectrometers, photometers, and radiometers.

Laser cavities

are used in medical lasers, lasers for dental laboratories, and industrial lasers with energy levels of up to approximately 200 watts.
